Melon is a favorite during summer time. People enjoy eating it cold to get refreshed and also to stay hydrated, which is extremely important during the warm season, particularly, but also if you want to lose weight.
It also contains arginine, which is an amino-acid and which according to a study that was published in 2009 by a major specialty magazine, contributes in reducing fat deposits and muscle mass developing.
Melon, ginger and lemongrass juice
2kg of diced melon
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
2 teaspoons of grated lemongrass
1 teaspoon of grated ginger
A pinch of salt
Ice cubes
Process the melon in a blender and strain the obtained paste in a bowl in which you add the remaining ingredients. Leave to rest in the fridge for 20 minutes before enjoying it.
Melon juice and coconut water
250g of diced melon
3 lemons
1 teaspoon of grated ginger
2 glasses of coconut water
Mint leaves
Ice cubes
3 teaspoons of sugar (optional)
Peel the lemons and combine it with all the other ingredients (except the ice and mint leaves) in a blender. Process the ingredients until you get a homogenous cocktail, strain it and leave to rest in the fridge for a few minutes. Decorate with mint leaves and serve with ice cubes.
Melon juice with pineapple and rose syrup
500ml of pineapple juice
750ml of melon juice
500ml of lemon or lime juice
3-4 teaspoons of rose syrup
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
A pinch of salt
Ice cubes
Process everything in a blender (except the ice cubes) and strain. Keep the juice in the fridge for 20-30 minutes before drinking it. Serve with ice cubes.
