5 natural ways to treat clogged pores

The pores are there to keep the skin healthy and to allow it to breathe. Sometimes, these pores can get clogged, due to bad hygiene, excess makeup or dust. Clogged pores lead to acne, blackheads and other even more serious skin conditions.

Here are 5 natural ways to treat clogged pores at home:

Steam

The simplest and most efficient way to treat clogged pores and to deeply clean the skin is by steam. All you need is hot water, a large bowl and a towel. If you wish to increase the steaming effect, you can replace the plain hot water with chamomile tea. Chamomile tea has a soothing effect on the skin. Cover your head with towel and lean over the steaming bowl. After 5-10 minutes, you will notice your pores opening which will make it easier for you to efficiently clean the skin of impurities by simple wiping with the towel. You can do this every night, if you wish.

Exfoliation

You can exfoliate immediately after the steaming session, before applying moisturizer. Wash your face with a little bit of water, damp to dry and use an exfoliating brush to gently brush the dead skin cells off. Make sure your face is completely dry before using the brush. Use this method once a week.

Scrub

Get a bowl and add some brown sugar in, a little bit of lemon juice, and a dash of water. Mix until homogenous and use it once a day to gently scrub your skin clean for a few minutes. It has wonderful effects on clogged pores. Rinse your skin and apply moisturizer.

Natural skin masks

A natural mask made of clay and water or egg and honey does wonders for the skin. Use a natural mask of your choice once a week and apply moisturizer afterwards.

Baking soda

Mix a little bit of baking soda with water so that you get a paste. Apply this mixture on your face, gently massage the skin with it and rinse. You can also add honey and lemon juice. Apply moisturizer afterwards.
