Natural hair bleaching methods that work!

Thinking about trying a lighter hair color but you’re scared that the chemicals in professional bleaching solutions might harm your hair? Try the natural way, instead! Aside the fact that natural is always better as opposed to using chemicals, by doing it naturally the bleaching will occur gradually, thus helping avoid a fashion disaster.

Natural bleaching methods:

The first natural bleaching solution recommended is based on honey, cinnamon and olive oil, which are ingredients that naturally contain hydrogen peroxide.

You need: 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 tablespoons of powdered cinnamon, 1 tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil and 6 tablespoons of water (distilled if possible).

The first thing you need to do is to dissolve the honey in water, and then add the rest of the ingredients. Apply the mixture on wet hair, evenly spread, and cover your hair with plastic foil. Leave the mixture on for a few hours. A slightly uncomfortable itch is normal, but if you feel a powerful burning sensation wash your hair immediately.

If everything goes smoothly, after 4-6 hours, wash your hair as you would normally do and after your hair is dry, you will certainly see beautiful glowing reflexes on your hair. To get results, repeat the process every week until you reach the desired tone.

The reason why the mask has proved to be efficient in bleaching is because of the hydrogen peroxide naturally contained especially by the honey. In order to release that, the honey must be diluted with water (1 to 6 parts). If you don’t like the cinnamon smell, you can replace it with cardamom and get the same result.

For the mixture to be homogenous, all ingredients must be at room temperature.

Another great way to naturally bleach your hair is by using lemon juice. For this method, you need:

  • 1 cup of lemon juice (approximately 4 large lemons)
  • 1 cup of orange juice
  • ¼ cup of warm water
  • ¼ cup of hair conditioner

Mix all the ingredients together and apply on hair. Leave to act for 30 to 60 minutes, preferably while sunbathing.

Depending on how dark your hair is, the results can be visible after 3 to 4 weeks, is the method is used every week.
